Now I know the present controversy about his racially insensitive remarks in his Playboy interview, however this is one of my favourite artists. The guy is a conceited as hell and kinda sees himself, as, well, the one. Guess this would sort of explain but not excuse his behaviour. However, attitude aside, he's a remarkable artiste.
His recent album Heartbreak Warfare is one of the best I've ever heard. It's soulful and very easy to listen to. He sings about breaking hearts and getting his heart broken. Songs such as "Perfectly Lonely", "Assassin", "Half of My Heart" and "Edge of Desire" will get you going and soothe you at the same time. The tracks are really easy to listen. John Mayer is a briliant musical talent.

I agree. Once I tried to get into his music beyond the few mainstream singles and it was a task. But the new album surprised me. I actually find myself singing along with some of them, like the songs listed. It is quite an easy listen, and rather relaxing.
